From One Kitchen to Six Venues
It started with a simple question: "How good is your day?" For founder Paul Wong, the answer always came back to food — the meals that mark celebrations, fuel conversations, and connect cultures.
In 2018, Paul opened the first Lucky 8 in Auckland with a vision to bridge Asian culinary traditions with European dining innovation. The response was immediate and overwhelming.
Within five years, that single restaurant grew into Haogood Group — a family of three distinct brands and six venues, each with its own personality but united by an obsession with quality, creativity, and genuine hospitality.
Today, the group employs over 150 team members across Auckland and Wellington, serves more than 50,000 diners monthly, and continues to push the boundaries of what Asian-European fusion can be.
